The spokesman for the Libyan National Army, Major General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, said yesterday that his country is at war with Turkey, which is a real confrontation exacerbated by the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Al-Mesmari indicated, in an interview with "Sky News Arabia", that the Turkish ship, which was intercepted by the Libyan National Army, last Monday, had entered a prohibited military zone.

Al-Mismari said: “Since 2016, we have prevented even Libyan fishing boats from entering the Libyan military zone, and it is forbidden to enter any sea vessel to this area.

But we were surprised that the Turkish ship entered this area, without the coordination or knowledge of the Libyan coast guard.

We issued a call to the ship and it did not respond to us, nor did it perform the international procedures followed in this position.

Al-Mismari said: "The Turkish ship was detained for entering a prohibited area, even if it was not carrying weapons or prohibited materials."

Al-Mismari also indicated that the Turkish president has never stopped transferring weapons to Libya, and that his country is in a real state of war with Turkey.

He added: “We and Turkey are in a state of war. We entered into a confrontation on the ground, and we did not stop the war. Rather, we stopped the fire, out of respect for international endeavors, and respect for the Libyan wishes to reach an agreement, but what we see is the exact opposite of that from Turkey. Arms to Libya ».

Al-Mismari emphasized that "Libya agreed to a cease-fire out of respect for Egypt and the brotherly countries that requested it."

He continued, "For everyone concerned about the Libyan issue, the matter of Libyan sovereignty cannot be waived in any way, or presented as an offering for any rapprochement with whomever he was."

Erdogan has never stopped transferring weapons to Libya.
