Traffic on line 2 of the Nice tram had to be interrupted for the duration of the emergency response.
This Wednesday afternoon, nearly 30 firefighters were called for a fire in the Lenval pediatric hospital, on the promenade des Anglais.
A child had to be transferred to the emergency department.
The alert was triggered shortly after 3:30 p.m. "for a fire in a room on the second floor" of the health facility, explains the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) of the Alpes-Maritimes.
A mattress fire involved
The injured youngster found on the spot was evacuated in relative urgency and taken care of by the emergency doctor.
A "mattress fire" would be involved, according to the Lenval Foundation, which specifies in a tweet that the child in care would be "slightly intoxicated".
The firefighters' intervention is underway, following a mattress fire.

Three municipal police officers were also, around 5 p.m., being auscultated by the firefighters for a potential intoxication by fumes.
