Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - In Saarland, 454 further corona infections were detected within 24 hours.
The total number of confirmed cases rose to 15 068 (as of 4 p.m.), as the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday in Saarbrücken.
According to the Saarbrücken regional association, more than 100 new infections are due to corona cases in a residential facility for disabled people.
Nine employees had also tested positive.
After several cases in the past week, all residents and employees of the facility have been tested, further results are still pending.
The number of deaths in connection with Covid-19 disease increased by 9 to 318. In Saarland, 2,617 people are currently infected with Sars-CoV-2.
271 corona patients are treated in the hospitals, 50 of them in intensive care units (as of 0.01 a.m.).
