Paris (AP) - After a racism allegation against the fourth official, the Champions League game between the French soccer champions Paris Saint-Germain and Basaksehir from Istanbul has been interrupted.

Both teams left after about a quarter of an hour and minutes of discussions when the score was 0-0.

The guests' assistant coach, former Cameroonian international Pierre Webo, saw the red card and is said to have been racially insulted by the fourth official.

The latter was accused of using a racist formulation for blacks, which is meanwhile paraphrased in German with the term "N-word".

This expression could be clearly heard in the empty Prinzenpark Stadium during the TV broadcast.

As was also heard, the referee team from Romania is said to have tried to defend themselves by saying that the fourth official used the Romanian word for black (negru) and not the N-word.

Former Bundesliga professional Demba Ba asked fourth official Sebastian Colţescu why he used the "N-word".

At first Ba sat on the bench at Basaksehir.

Webo, Ba, and others could then be heard loudly pointing out that the referees hadn't said "the white" to identify a white player either.

It was initially unclear whether the game should be canceled or continued.

Immediately after the incident, Basaksehir tweeted the logo of the UEFA “No to Racism - Respect” campaign.

There were heated debates on the sidelines, with PSG stars Kylian Mbappé and Neymar standing close to the action for a long time.

TV pictures showed how Mbappé also spoke.

The Brazilian Neymar last accused his opponent of racism in the league game against Olympique Marseille in mid-September.

After the guest team from Turkey had gone into the dressing room, the team of the German coach Thomas Tuchel followed a few seconds later.
