Bremerhaven (dpa / lni) - The polar bear twins Anna and Elsa from the zoo by the sea in Bremerhaven will be one year old on Tuesday.

To be celebrated with ice cream cake and gifts, as the zoo announced.

The two siblings saw the light of day on December 8, 2019.

The zoo team did not necessarily expect any offspring that year.

But then zookeepers discovered two small polar bears between the legs of polar bear Valeska in the cave monitored by cameras.

She is already a multiple mother.

Polar bear Lili last saw the light of day in 2015.

In 2013 her sister Lale was born.

Both now live in a Dutch zoo.
