December 08, 2020US President-elect Joe Biden would have chosen retired General Lloyd Austin as Defense Secretary.

This was reported by the US media, including Politico and the CNN, writes the Ansa.

Austin was the number one of the US Central Command and deputy chief of staff of the US military.

If confirmed by the Senate, he will be the first African American in history to lead the Pentagon.

The announcement is expected this week.
