The Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun, called yesterday for the need to activate the judicial work, and called for the urgent consideration of the pending cases before the courts.

Aoun said, during his meeting yesterday with the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Suhail Abboud, and members of the Council at the Baabda Presidential Palace, that “the role of the judiciary is essential in combating corruption and prosecuting the perpetrators, in addition to being the last resort for citizens in search of justice, to fulfill the right, and to preserve rights. .

Aoun called on the judiciary to "not be influenced by the political and media campaigns that target some judges, with special emphasis on the absence of transgressions while practicing their work."

During the meeting, Aoun presented the judicial situation and the work of the courts, according to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic.

It is noteworthy that the judiciary in Lebanon is an independent authority according to the constitution, and it suffers from slow trials.
