She transferred the money to a man who online claimed to be an American engineer in temporary financial trouble, which UNT also reported.

The man convinced the woman to first give away her own savings, and then steal millions from the store.

She also bought bitcoin for the man, both with the company's money and with loans she took out herself.

The woman says in interrogation that she thought the man would pay back, but she realized that she had been deceived when he stopped hearing.

The photos of himself the man sent actually depicted an actor from the TV series Baywatch.

According to the court, the penalty for the crime is imprisonment for more than two years, but since the woman herself has been exposed to fraud, lost her job and incurred large debts, she is instead sentenced to one and a half years in prison.
