19-year-old Emma Kivioja in Mörrum is part of the development national figure skating team.

Despite her elite commitment, she is not allowed to train in the ice rink.

With several Swedish Championship medals in her luggage at junior level and a place in the development national team, she is investing in becoming the best in figure skating.

"Not very motivating"

But during the pandemic, she now has to place her training outdoors.

- It will be to run intervals and train strength outside.

It is not always very motivating to go out and run when it rains.

It's easier if you go in and train a regular ice session, says Emma Kivioja.

May train others

But not all training is located outdoors.

People who are 15 years and younger are still welcome at the training sessions as usual, according to the corona restrictions.

And so is Emma Kivioja in her role as youth coach.

- It feels a little strange that I can be a coach for several skiers but not be allowed to be on the ice myself and only train me and my coach, she says.
