Berlin / Bremen (dpa / lni) - A daycare center from Bremen has been awarded the Researcher Spirit Federal Prize.
The Girotondo day-care center will receive a total of 5,000 euros for the “We're building our own playhouse” project, as the House of Little Researchers Foundation and Deutsche Telekom, the organizers of the nationwide competition, announced on Tuesday.
In addition to the Bremen day-care center, four other day-care centers from Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt were recognized as national winners.
They won over the jury with projects from the fields of mathematics, IT, natural sciences and technology (MINT).
The motto of this year's competition was "Release the spirit of research!".
The prize money is to be used for STEM educational work.
There were 651 applications for the competition.
