That summer, the leader suddenly called Liu Lijiao to the office and asked her to participate in the research on a major subject of aircraft carrier development.
Looking at the precious reference materials, she was both disturbed and excited.
Liu Lijiao came from studying Russian, but after taking a job, she puts her English study in an important position. "Learning English with her son" was passed down as a good talk for the institute.
She said that this allows her to grasp the latest information as quickly as possible without having to go through the hands of others.
In recent years, whenever there is new content in related fields, she is like a highly efficient scanning and copying machine, "sweeping" into her own knowledge treasure house in different categories.
It can be said that being able to participate in such a major subject as aircraft carrier development is the recognition of her rich knowledge reserve and the depth and breadth of strategic research by her superiors.
However, the question of what to build, how to build it, and how to use aircraft carrier power was almost blank for the navy at that time.
Liu Lijiao and her comrades fought day and night, completing the system exploration ahead of time.
In the past few years, she led 3 National Social Science Fund projects related to aircraft carriers and major military issues.
Technology is advancing, aircraft carriers are developing, and aircraft carrier research is not completed.
When following the Liaoning fleet to go to sea for training, Liu Lijiao, who was seasick, traveled through the various cabins, consulted hundreds of thousands of words of information, and worshipped the leaders, experts and backbone of the ship as a teacher, and finally completed a high-quality research report.
Some of these views were adopted by the Military Commission and the Navy, and relevant research results were enriched and perfected and won the first Military Science and Technology Progress (Military Theory) Award.
Put research on the battlefield
"When you are a navy, you must go to warships and fight wind and waves; to engage in theory, you must enter the army and face the battlefield." Liu Lijiao's point of view is very clear.
In 2013 and 2015, she accompanied the hospital ship "Peace Ark" to perform the mission of "Harmony Mission".
More than 300 days, nearly 4,000 hours, more than 53,000 nautical miles... Liu Lijiao focused on naval transformation and naval force operations on the battlefront.
The results of "Research on a Certain Special Action Problem" completed by her author were applied by higher authorities, and the "Research on Strategic Use of Hospital Ships" under this background were all awarded.
Three years ago, Liu Lijiao went to a certain country to participate in a bilateral seminar and spoke on issues related to the Chinese Navy’s escort operation in the Gulf of Aden.
Before the words were over, a local expert provoked that the Chinese navy’s escort operation was expanding its sphere of influence and affecting regional security and stability.
"There is no right to speak without investigation. Please speak with facts." She combined the two missions of "Harmony Mission" and elaborated on the four dimensions of "Peace Ark", the boat of peace, the boat of life, the boat of friendship, and the boat of culture. The Chinese navy always loves peace and maintains peace.
In recent years, Liu Lijiao has participated in the completion of more than 10 major special research tasks assigned by the State, the Military Commission, and the Navy, including "Strategic Research on a Maritime Direction", providing important decision-making basis for higher-level agencies to plan naval construction and development and force combat effectiveness.
Not long ago, she took charge of the "Reflections and Suggestions for Deeply Promoting the Transformation and Construction of the Navy" and "Research on the Historical Experience of Maritime Military Struggle" and other achievements that have been put into practice, which have become useful references for advancing the transformation and construction of the Navy.
