The water was turned off at 9.30 on Monday morning and the forecast is that it will remain closed until 16 o'clock.
A fire station in Brännögård is open to those who need to fetch water.
Warns of discoloration
The municipality warns that discoloration can occur once the water is released and then recommends that victims rinse until the water is clean.
Another piece of advice is to avoid washing white laundry before the discolorations are gone.
