As Klin explained, in this way Bashaev, who, after the intervention of the POC and the human rights ombudsman in Moscow Tatyana Potyaeva, underwent surgery on a broken jaw, is protesting against the attempt to send him to a colony before being examined at a civil hospital where he was treated.

“On October 29, I underwent an operation in a civilian hospital and in 30 days they had to remove the metal braces if everything had grown together.

I asked to be taken to the same hospital where the operation was performed.

In the hospital, the pre-trial detention center was refused, they said that they would do everything themselves.

And how will they do it if they have been explaining for three months that they do not do such operations? "

- said Bashaev to human rights activists.

According to him, on December 3, the SIZO officers announced to him that he was being sent to the colony, and, threatening to use force, demanded to leave the hospital cell and go to the assembly department.

Bashaev claims that force was used against him when they tried to put him in a paddy wagon.

He showed the POC members a certificate from the SIZO medical unit dated December 3, 2020, where abrasions were recorded.

He was not sent to the stage that day, but, as the convict says, they promise to do this within the next ten days.

The POC members recommended that the SIZO administration refrain from transporting Bashaev until examination in the hospital where he was operated on, and make a decision after receiving the opinion of its specialists.

Klin added that Bashaev is currently on hunger strike in the hospital's solitary confinement cell, demanding a meeting with the prosecutor who oversees the rule of law in the pre-trial detention center, and taking him to the hospital, where he was operated on more than a month ago.

The POC of Moscow, together with Ombudsman Tatyana Potyaeva, has been pushing for this operation since the end of August.

Earlier, RT reported that in September Bashaev tried to injure himself in protest against being sent to a colony before he underwent a medical operation.
