Rostock (dpa / mv) - Aida Cruises has to postpone the premiere season of “Aida Cosma”.

The shipping company's second cruise ship with liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be delivered later than originally planned by Meyer Werft in 2021, announced Aida Cruises.

The seven-day cruises from Kiel to Norway and the Baltic States from May 2021 will now be carried out by the “Aida Nova” instead.

For their actually planned trips in the western Mediterranean from Mallorca, the "Aida Perla" will now be used.

The “Perla” is therefore not heading for Norway's fjords, but the “Aida Sol”.

In addition, the "Aida Blu" will not only be on the move in the Adriatic Sea, but also on routes in the eastern Mediterranean from Corfu.

These trips were originally planned with the "Aida Mira".

All other summer programs should take place as planned.

The “Aida Cosma” with 2600 cabins is a sister ship of the “Aida Nova”, the first cruise ship with LNG propulsion.

Liquid gas is less harmful to the environment than heavy fuel oil.

Currently, there are hardly any cruise ships on the move due to the corona pandemic and the associated restrictions on travel.
