Erfurt / Wiesbaden (dpa / th) - Of the approximately 950,000 employees in Thuringia, 186,000 work on at least one Sunday or public holiday per month.

This emerges from the analysis of data from the Federal Statistical Office, which the Left Party parliamentary group has now submitted.

According to this, 29,000 employees work on every Sunday and public holiday, 95,000 on every other Sunday or public holiday and 63,000 on one Sunday or public holiday per month.

The proportion of those who still work in Thuringia on these actually free days is 19.7 percent of the dependent employees and thus above the national average of 18.8 percent.

Women have to deal with it more often than men. 15,000 of them work every Sunday or public holiday, 14,000 for men. 54,000 women work at the company instead of with the family on at least two Sundays a month, 41,000 for men. Only for employees who regularly attend only work one Sunday a month, men outnumber 38,000 versus 25,000 women.
