Viersen (dpa) - Gangster rapper Kollegah (36) has to answer in court for violating the gun law.

Police had discovered a blank gun in his car, which is said to come under gun law.

Next Tuesday, the case will be heard at the district court in Viersen in the Lower Rhine region (Az: 24 Cs 194/20).

The rapper is said not to have had the necessary small gun license for the blank gun.

The musician is said to have parked his more than 160,000 euro and 600 hp luxury sedan on August 27, 2019 in a parking lot in Viersen.

Two police officers had checked the suspicious car and saw the deceptively real-looking pistol in the center console.

According to a judicial spokesman, the district court issued a penalty order of 12,000 euros against the musician at the request of the public prosecutor.

Since Kollegah does not want to pay the fine and has lodged an objection, the case must now be heard in court.

It is unclear whether the musician will appear for the trial himself.

His defense lawyer Christoph Miseré did not want to comment on the allegations against his client when asked by the dpa.

In January of this year, the rapper announced a special home visit by the police on Instagram.

He posted a video on which he was apparently discussing with several officers on his property, as well as a photo of a search warrant.

It was apparently about the search and confiscation of the weapon, as can be read on it.

Kollegah alias Felix Blume currently follow more than 1.6 million people on Facebook and Instagram.

With the song “0815” and the line “My body is more defined than by Auschwitz inmates”, he caused a scandal in 2018 that ultimately led to the end of the renowned “Echo” music award.

Kollegah then visited the concentration camp memorial in Auschwitz and exercised restraint on the subject of the Holocaust.
