Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito Party executives confirmed on the night of the 6th that they would continue discussions toward an agreement over the government's policy of raising the window burden of medical expenses for people aged 75 and over to 20%. While confirming the intention of the Minister, it is expected that the range of income to be raised will be adjusted.

Regarding the target of raising the window burden of medical expenses for the elderly aged 75 and over to 20%, the government wants to make people with an annual income of 1.7 million yen or more, but the Komeito says that the range of demanding the burden is too wide, 2.4 million It is difficult to make adjustments, asking for more than a yen.

Under these circumstances, it is desirable that the secretary-generals of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party and the chairman of the National Assembly Countermeasures Committee meet on the night of the 6th, and that the two parties should settle in a consensus manner, including coordination with the chairman of the political investigation and the government side. We confirmed that we would continue discussions toward an agreement.

However, there is a deep-rooted opinion within the government that the scope of the increase should not be narrowed in order to reduce the future burden on the younger generation as the population continues to age, and there is still an opinion with the Komeito. There is a gap.

For this reason, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party are expected to make final adjustments regarding the range of income to be raised, while confirming the intentions of Prime Minister Suga.
