  • To help farmers and respond to consumers' enthusiasm for short supply chains, the Departmental Council has just launched the DirectFermiers 31 site, listing nearly 300 producers in Haute-Garonne.

  • The user can geolocate the farmers, according to their productions, their sales methods, their label ...

  • The app will be available on December 21.

It is a project launched before the health crisis but which today finds even more meaning at a time when the French plead for local food.

The Haute-Garonne Departmental Council has just launched the DirectFermiers31 site, the directory of producers for direct sales in the department.

In partnership with the Haute-Garonne Chamber of Agriculture, the Erables association and the Bienvenue à la ferme network, the department has already listed nearly 300 producers at 75 points of sale.

With a few clicks on the site, the user can directly find the producers and their points of sale.

Census and geolocation of producers

“The idea is that everyone can easily find a producer near their home and recreate links with the farmers,” explains Jean-Michel Fabre, vice-president in charge of sustainable development within the community.

Thanks to our network of 28 agro-environmental advisers who support our farmers, we have been able to identify all those who sell without an intermediary: on the farm, in the markets, in the Amaps or in the farmer's shops ”.

🥝This directory, which lists nearly 300 farm producers with their points of sale, responds to consumer demand amplified by the Covid-19 crisis, to buy quality local products, by facilitating the connection between producers and consumer.

The Internet user has access to a geolocation map to locate the producers and / or their points of sale but can also search by product, by municipality, by certification, by type of place of sale or mode of distribution.

A Chatbot, i.e. a conversational agent, is also available to allow users to answer questions in real time.

Craze for short circuits

For Christophe Etienne, beekeeper in Bessières who has agreed to be registered on this new short circuit site, “it's a great initiative that allows us to highlight its production to new customers” that he might not have. not be affected through its website.

"It is a modern tool which can only be a bonus to have other vectors of direct sales marketing", assures this beekeeper installed since 1998. From December 21, the DirectFermiers31 mobile application will also be available on iOS and Android.

A craze for short circuits accelerated by the health crisis which has attracted new consumers.

In the spring, the Regional Council of Occitanie launched the “All Occitarians” platform to support farmers and promote home delivery of fresh and local products.

A device that has convinced nearly 4,000 producers from all over Occitania, now registered on the platform, and thousands of consumers.

On the side of Drive Fermier Toulousain, orders exploded, up to 200 per week, during the first confinement.

If the customers decreased with deconfinement, the drive still gained loyal customers.

“Today, we are around 70 orders per week, whereas it was rather 30 to 40 before the health crisis,” says Elsa Ducousso, the host of this drive to close created by the Haute-Garonne Chamber of Agriculture.

We are betting on celebrations and the integration of new local products, such as Armagnac, to reach new consumers ”.
