Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, around 900 corona cases in old people's and nursing homes have become known so far.

Of the infected, around 600 were residents and around 300 employees, as the Ministry of Social Affairs in Magdeburg announced on request.

Since November 23, 34 inpatient facilities have been wholly or partially in quarantine.

Around 320 residents and around 130 employees are affected.

The numbers came from lists kept by the home inspector.

According to the ministry, a total of around 14,000 corona infections have been reported across the country.

From the Ministry's point of view, an increasing number of corona cases in homes is an indication that more is being tested.

«Since the submission of a test concept is voluntary, there are no precise figures.

But we know from discussions with the associations that the facilities predominantly use rapid tests. "

And further: "Of course, the testing involves a considerable amount of personnel, but it also leads to more security."

Occasionally delivery problems were mentioned.

The ministry can, however, name trustworthy suppliers who are also able to deliver at short notice.

In addition, associations are quite capable of procuring larger quantities and then distributing them to the facilities.
