"

Nikol the traitor

", "

Nikol is going

" ... These are the messages that were visible on the signs and chanted by more than 10,000 demonstrators this Saturday afternoon in the streets of Yerevan.

This rally, the most important since

the announcement of the ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan,

took place peacefully.

The procession passed the homes of Prime Minister Nikol Pachinian and key government officials, before dispersing.

Some demonstrators held up portraits of victims, recalling the losses suffered by Armenia in this conflict with its neighbor.

More than 2,500 soldiers and 50 civilians are said to have died on the Armenian side.

Nikol Pachinian has not forgotten these victims.

In a televised address, in which he said he had no intention of resigning, the prime minister said his government's priority now was to organize the return of the prisoners and the bodies of the victims.

This televised address will certainly not calm the ardor of a part of the population which does not accept

this cease-fire agreement

.

An agreement which still allowed Armenia to keep part of the disputed areas.
