He emphasized that Russia is a key partner of the UN in all areas of its work, including in the area of achieving sustainable development goals.
Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Chubais to a new position.
The Kremlin noted that he will not be a civil servant and will not be included in the staff of the presidential administration.
