Dominique Strauss-Kahn, former Managing Director of the IMF whose career was shattered in 2011 after being accused of sexual assault in New York, announces Friday, December 4 that he will deliver his version "for the first time" facts in a documentary film due next year.

"For the first time, I accepted in a documentary film to review all of my personal and professional history, from French politics to international spheres", wrote on Friday the former French Minister of the Economy and Finances on his Twitter account.

"I never gave my version of the facts that marked my withdrawal from political life, others took care of it for me, speaking from press clippings, interviews and real facts or supposed. The time has come to express myself, "he adds.

On screens in fall 2021

Long favorite of the Socialist primary for the 2012 presidential election when he was arrested in May 2011 in New York, accused of sexual assault by a maid at the Sofitel hotel, Dominique Strauss-Kahn resigned from the leadership of the IMF and renounced the primary.

In an interview with TF1 in September 2011, he admitted having committed a "moral fault" and had an "inappropriate" relationship but denied any violence, coercion, aggression or criminal act.

The criminal charges against him were dropped and a confidential transaction was found between Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his accuser, Nafissatou Diallo.

The documentary film will be on screens in the fall of 2021, says DSK.

For its part, the Netflix platform will broadcast from Monday a documentary series on this affair, "Room 2806: the DSK affair", produced by actor and director Jalil Lespert.
