“The Russian Federation regards the decision of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands as unfounded and will continue to defend its legitimate interests in the Netherlands and other jurisdictions,” the statement said.
The department drew attention to the fact that in the practice of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands, decisions have never been taken to suspend execution in such cases.
According to the Justice Ministry, the court improperly applied a strict standard in assessing the chances of satisfying Russia's complaint filed in May.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of the Netherlands reported that it had rejected a Russian petition filed in the Yukos case.
