In response to the once active situation of “water passenger” smuggling at the Zhuhai-Macao port, Gongbei Customs took measures such as deepening smuggling by all staff, strengthening the professional crackdown of the anti-smuggling department, and promoting comprehensive anti-smuggling management, deepening cooperation with local public security and other relevant departments, and promoting integrated prevention , Management, control, crackdown, and rectification work, insist on "starting and digging the roots", and launch a "full chain" attack on the "water guest" gang.
By the end of October this year, Gongbei Customs had investigated and dealt with 916 cases of "water passengers" smuggling and eliminated 29 professional smuggling gangs with a case value of more than 1.8 billion yuan, effectively curbing the momentum of "water passengers" smuggling.

The reporter encountered a Macau woman, Nie Mou, who was intercepted by the customs for "carrying" 8 bottles of Moutai into the country.
At that time, the woman entered the country through the “no-declaration channel” of the Customs at the Passenger Inspection Hall of Gongbei Port. The on-site customs officer found that Nie’s luggage and articles were inspected by X-ray machines as suspicious and intercepted her for investigation.
The reporter saw that the black backpack Nie carried with him contained 8 bottles of Moutai, and the other travel bag contained a large number of squashed wine boxes.
Nie claimed that these wines and wine boxes were "carrying" for others, and the other party promised to give a certain "tip" after carrying them through customs.
The on-site customs officer told reporters that according to customs regulations, cigarettes and alcohol are restricted entry items. Passengers travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau are limited to 750ml for the first entry of alcoholic beverages within 15 days.
Some criminals tried to use the passenger's personal "duty-free quota" to evade customs supervision. Passengers with unknown circumstances were lured by petty profits and brought their belongings through customs.
At present, the customs has imposed administrative penalties on the parties and returned the Moutai liquor they carried.
In response to the characteristics of "water passenger" smuggling, Gongbei Customs has adopted key points, precise measures, and precise strikes to build a comprehensive line of defense with positive, follow-up, and reverse supervision relying on and complementing each other.

Especially with the relief of the domestic epidemic, after the full resumption of traffic between Guangdong and Macao, cross-border drivers' smuggling of passenger cars is showing signs of resurgence.
In response to this, Gongbei Customs has increased its smart supervision this year, combining the risk analysis of the "water passenger" group with the application of intelligent supervision equipment, relying on CT machines and sorting lines, top-illuminated passenger car inspection equipment, and H986 large container inspections.
