Bahrain, an Islamic state in the Gulf region, announced on the 4th local time that Pfizer-Bioentech has allowed emergency use of the Corona 19 vaccine, Reuters and the Associated Press reported.

This makes Bahrain the second country to approve Pfizer vaccines after the UK.

The state-run Bahrain news agency, BNA, also delivered the announcement that night, explaining that it was "a thorough analysis and review of all available data" in connection with the authorities' approval for the use of the vaccine.

Bahrain did not immediately disclose how much Pfizer vaccine it had purchased.

Bahrain previously approved the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm's Corona 19 vaccine for emergency use by medical staff last month.

"The approval of the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine will add an additional important layer to the Kingdom's (Bahrain) national response to COVID-19," said Dr. Mariam Al Zalahma, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain's National Health Regulatory Authority.

On the 2nd, the British government approved the world's first emergency use of the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine.

Bahrain's urgent use of the Pfizer vaccine, which was approved two days after the UK's approval for use, is expected to boost the spread of the Pfizer vaccine, despite the criticism that some, including the European Union, are ``quiet''.

Bahrain is a small island kingdom stationed by the 5th Fleet of the US Navy as a key US alliance in the Gulf region.
