According to reports, the local Civil Defence and Rescue Service announced that a wastewater treatment plant in Evanmouth near Bristol had exploded.
The civil defense department stated on social media that it had dispatched fire trucks and helicopters to the scene for rescue.
After the explosion, the spokesperson of the Civil Defense Department said: "We can confirm that there were many casualties at the scene." Later, the authorities updated the news that 4 people were killed and 1 injured. The injuries of the injured will not be life-threatening.
According to reports, the explosion was related to a chemical tank in the sewage treatment plant.
