03 December 2020President Trump targets the social network.

The accusation against the American giant Facebook, founded by Mark Zuckerberg, is of discriminating against American workers by favoring immigrant ones.

This was announced by the Wall Street Journal.

In detail, the Department of Justice claims that social media "illegally reserves the best-paid qualifications for immigrants, as part of its campaign to sponsor the permanent residence of these workers".

All of this would be done through the H-1B visa scheme, which is a visa in the United States that allows US employers to temporarily hire foreign workers in specialized professions.

A procedure that, according to Trump, would be to the detriment of American workers.

The Department of Justice complaint is collected on 17 pages and puts Facebook in the dock for having inadequately "regulated" at least 2,600 positions between 2018 and 2019 that were occupied by foreign workers with high-qualification H-1B visas , just when the Social would have applied for sponsorship for permanent residence for the aforementioned workers (or the 'Green Card').

Regarding the accusation, the defense will have to prove that it has not been able to find any American worker qualified to carry out the job and therefore would have requested the obtaining of the Green Card for the foreign workers involved.
