“As part of the completion of the power start-up phase at the BelNPP, the planned disconnection of the first power unit from the power system was carried out, the reactor plant was shut down,” Interfax reports the Ministry of Energy.

It is noted that testing of all systems and equipment is being carried out, which will last until December 11.

On November 19 it was reported that the Belarusian nuclear power plant had stopped generating electricity. 

The Ministry of Energy of Belarus noted that the temporary interruption of the supply of electricity from the BelNPP is envisaged by the energy start-up program.

Later, the first unit of the BelNPP was connected to the grid after replacing the transformers.

On November 7, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that the launch of the nuclear power plant would be a historic event, since "the country is becoming a nuclear power."
