Hamburg (dpa) - Accompanied by a delegation of employees from Hamburg companies, IG Metall wants to hand over its demands for the next collective bargaining round in the northern German metal and electrical industry to the Nordmetall employers' association on Thursday.

District manager Daniel Friedrich will present the union wishes to the deputy Nordmetall managing director Peter Schlaffke in front of the Haus der Wirtschaft at 9.00 a.m., announced the IG Metall coast.

According to the union, collective bargaining for the approximately 140,000 employees in the northern German metal and electrical industry will begin on December 14 in Hamburg. The IG Metall coast requires metal workers in north-west Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, among other things, a volume of four percent with a tariff term of twelve months. The employers' association Nordmetall has already described this as absurd.
