An Emirati singer, Walid Al-Jasem, arrived in Israel on Wednesday morning, in a precedent, the first of its kind since the announcement of the normalization of relations between the UAE and Israel on September 15th.
He was received at Ben Gurion Airport by Israeli singer Elkana Martziano.
The Emirati singer expressed his happiness at being among those he described as his friends in the Hebrew state, according to AFP, and he invited Martziano to visit Dubai.
For his part, Elkana Martziano expressed his happiness at meeting Al-Jasem, who described him as "the first Emirati artist to set foot in Israel," adding that "Al-Jasem will visit Jerusalem and beautiful sites in Israel."
The visit sparked angry reactions from observers, as social media users commented, saying "birds of a feather fall" and "masks unfolded," while one of them described the singer Walid Al-Jasem as a "wedding singer", in reference to his limited fame.

Al Jassim and Martziano had a previous collaboration on a joint song called "Welcome Beik", which was released on September 30th, which was an invitation to exchange visits between the Emiratis and the Israelis.
The song was presented in Arabic, English and Hebrew, and has gained 1.5 million views on YouTube.
