Every year, SVA examines thousands of animals - both domestic and wild.

In this year's Christmas calendar, the third in a row, SVA's pathologists show pictures from autopsies of animals.

Behind the doors on Instagram, for example, is a cat brain and a dead-bitten bat.

- The calendar moves on the border between disgusting and interesting and the interest is great - many want to know what happens to the animals.

We can help explain why they die, says Karin Olofsson-Sannö, assistant state veterinarian at SVA.

Have you got more followers on Instagram now?

- Yes, it is constantly increasing from year to year.

Most are people with an interest in animals - hunters and pet owners.

And so a lot of veterinary students.

So no one gets disgusted?

- No, on the contrary - many comment that they want us to show more.

Which gap should the most sensitive skip?

- I do not remember the number, but we have a wild boar lung in the picture where a small grain from some grain has crept down and caused a pneumonia, says Karin Olofsson-Sannö.
