He also added that the politician used his "powerful intellect to analyze the most complex international problems."

Hollande noted that d'Estaing will remain in memory as a reformer president.

“His seven-year term was marked by major reforms such as lowering the voting age to 18, legalizing abortion, and universal social protection,” he wrote on Twitter.

Earlier it became known about the death of d'Estaing at the 95th year of life.
