On the eve of a press conference dedicated to vaccines, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex took the lead, this Wednesday on BFMTV, by announcing massive screening campaigns and the isolation of French people going to ski in the foreign.

While he must present the French vaccine strategy, Thursday at the end of the afternoon, Jean Castex has already specified, this Wednesday, that France had “pre-ordered” vaccines for “100 million people”.

A first wave for priority audiences (nursing home residents, nursing staff) could take place between the end of the month and the beginning of January, but the logistical and educational challenges are enormous in order to succeed in the general public phase, which is scheduled to start between April and June.

Tests in the North, Normandy and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes?

After muddles on the masks and tests, the executive, meeting Wednesday morning at a new Health Defense Council, does not want to miss the turning point for vaccines, while the British neighbor became the first country to approve on Wednesday. massive use of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine, deployed as early as next week.

On Wednesday, the Prime Minister also announced that massive screening campaigns were going to be held in the metropolises of three regions of France, without citing them, "perhaps even before" the end of year celebrations.

They will take place "perhaps in the North, perhaps in Normandy, perhaps in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region", eluded Jean Castex, hoping to draw from the operation, already carried out in other countries of 'Europe, "preventive and curative lessons", in particular concerning the populations and places of life most affected by the disease.

At the same time, Jean Castex recalled working on "strengthening the effectiveness" of the isolation of sick people, without excluding, "at the end of the day", sanctions.

While the decline of the epidemic continues in France and allows to consider a new relaxation of restrictions on December 15, Jean Castex proposed to relax to "6 m2 per faithful" the gauge of the number of people authorized to attend religious ceremonies, against a maximum of 30 people currently.

Isolation of skiers

Faced with the rebellion of Catholic associations in the run-up to Christmas and challenged by the Council of State, Jean Castex specified that "no decision" had been officially taken, some among the representatives of the cults asking "for gauges a little more flexible ”.

The question should be definitively decided before Thursday morning and, as a pledge, the Prime Minister mentioned the possibility of "loosening the gauge a little" for the Christmas ceremonies.

The file of the closure of French ski resorts continues to flip through, for lack of European harmonization.

In the name of "fairness", Jean Castex thus indicated to envisage a period of isolation of seven days for the French returning from skiing abroad in order to prevent them "from going to be contaminated in the stations" Swiss, Spanish or Austrian remained open.

Random checks will therefore be set up at the borders, for isolation at home or in a place of accommodation.

Finally, Jean Castex indicated that the spectators would not be back in the stadiums "before December 15" while Emmanuel Macron had mentioned January.

A ray of hope for professional sport, behind closed doors for almost two months.
