Mönchengladbach (dpa / lnw) - While trying to extinguish overheated candle wax in a saucepan, a man in Mönchengladbach sustained burns on both hands.

Ambulance service and an emergency doctor treated the injured after the accident on Wednesday afternoon, as the fire department said.

According to initial findings, the saucepan with the hot wax on a stove had ignited.

The young man tried to delete.

The fire brigade did not provide any further details.

When the emergency services arrived, the wax, which had now cooled down, no longer posed any danger.

The injured was taken to a special clinic.
