Leipzig (AP) - Handball Bundesliga club SC DHfK Leipzig and Bastian Roscheck go their separate ways at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old decided against extending his expiring contract, the club announced on Wednesday evening.

"We regret his decision, because Basti has done a lot in our club," said managing director Karsten Günther.

It is not yet known where the defense chief is going.

Roscheck has played for Leipzig since 2013, with whom he celebrated promotion to the Bundesliga in 2015.

His steady development culminated in 2018 when he was appointed to the German EM squad.

In the current Bundesliga season, however, Roscheck has only recorded a small proportion of the game to date.
