Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - In North Rhine-Westphalia, 665 daycare centers had to close completely and 948 facilities in parts due to the corona pandemic in November.

This emerges from a report by the Family Ministry for the state parliament.

More than 15 percent of the around 10,500 facilities were affected by corona-related closings.

According to the ministry, around 730,000 children are cared for by 160,000 employees in the state's day-care centers.

How many children and staff were affected by the closings remained open in the report.

Childcare providers also had to partially stop their care.

For October, 270 temporary closures in day care were reported to the youth welfare offices.
