Güstrow (dpa / mv) - Today (1.30 p.m.) the Rostock district presents the current plans for the future Tellow model estate near Teterow.

The 23 hectare facility, which goes back to the social economist Johann Heinrich von Thünen (1783–1850), is to be developed into a model agriculture with the help of the federal government and scientific support.

As the owner, the district had developed a concept for this, taking into account issues such as nutrient efficiency, climate protection, adaptation to climate change and biodiversity in the agricultural sector.

According to the Bundestag member Eckhardt Rehberg (CDU), the Thünen Institute in Braunschweig will also be a partner.

An agriculturally operated open-air museum was built on the site after 1990, but it regularly required higher subsidies. These contracts were terminated by the district. The restart should be on January 1, 2021. Thünen, after which an international company is named, had managed the estate at the beginning of the 19th century as an example of its time.
