A survey of SVT 2019 shows that the parents 'educational background is of great importance for the school students' results.

According to the National Agency for Education, factors such as income and how long the student has lived in Sweden also affect.

But the parents 'level of education is the factor that affects students' results the most.

In mid-December, the Swedish Schools Inspectorate will hold a meeting with the principals at Ersängsskolan and school strategist Fredrik Strandgren hopes that the meeting can contribute to the school's development, even if some of the factors are problematic.

- The parents' educational background is difficult to do anything about, but the municipality has decided that the schools with the lowest results should improve the results the most.

We have taken a lot of measures, but then we will see if the Swedish Schools Inspectorate thinks that what we have done is good enough, says Fredrik Strandgren.

In the video, you hear more about what the municipality wants to do to improve the results at Ersängsskolan.
