Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - In Corona times, film lovers can follow the 26th edition of the Baden-Württemberg film show online from December 2nd.

“Baden-Württemberg is in each of the 130 films on offer,” the organizers announced on Tuesday.

With the proceeds from the tickets, the festival says it supports the film industry, which has been hit by the pandemic, and the artists' emergency aid Stuttgart.

On Saturday, the winners of the fiction, short, advertising, documentary and animation film categories as well as the youth film award will be announced.

17 prizes with a total value of 15,500 euros will be awarded.

According to program director Elisa Kromeier, films have become more political, especially in the documentary sector.

The film show is a performance show for the industry in Baden-Württemberg.

In November, the film producer Jochen Laube was announced as this year's winner of the film award.

Laube is currently working on the series "The Empress", which is about Empress Sisi, for the streaming service Netflix.

The online festival ends on Sunday.
