  The average number of years of education of the working-age population reached 10.7 years, the proportion of new laborers who had received higher education reached 50.9%, and the average number of years of education reached 13.7 years.

  The construction of modern vocational education system is accelerated.

In 2019, the goal of expanding higher vocational education to 1.16 million people will be completed, and vocational colleges at all levels will send about 10 million technical and skilled talents to various industries every year.

  Since the "13th Five-Year Plan", the total number of college graduates has reached 40.88 million, and the initial employment rate has remained above 77% for many years.

The state actively guides and encourages graduates to work at the grass-roots level. The proportion of 2019 graduates to work in the central and western regions reached 59%, and the proportion of grass-roots jobs at the prefectural level and below reached 69%.

  A new pattern of China's education opening to the outside world has accelerated.

Signed 19 cooperation agreements with 14 international organizations such as UNESCO, realized mutual recognition of degrees and qualifications with 25 countries along the “Belt and Road”, and promoted the implementation of 2,331 Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions and projects.
