Giovanni Castellucci, CEO of Autostrade per l'Italia, was acquitted in the trial for the bus that fell into the A16 embankment.

For him the prosecution had asked for a sentence of 10 years in prison.

The sentence was read in these minutes by the single judge of the court of Avellino Luigi Buono.

The request of the Public Prosecutor of Avellino for the CEO of Autostrade per l'Italia Giovanni Castellucci was 10 years of imprisonment.

The same request was made for the other Autostrade per l'Italia executives and employees accused in the first instance trial which took place in the Court of Avellino and received a sentence today.

Many protests from the relatives of the 40 victims present in the courtroom at the end of the reading of the sentence, precisely for the acquittal of Castellucci.

Di Maio: we will recover Autostrade

"I don't know how long it will take, but we will recover the highways!".

Thus Luigi Di Maio in a post dedicated to the "victims of Avellino and Ponte Morandi".

"I understand the cry of pain of the families of the victims of Avellino after the acquittal of the CEO of Autostrade per l'Italia, Giovanni Castellucci, and it pisses me off".

"It is since the fall of the Morandi Bridge - he remembers - that as a government we have been working to remove concessions from Autostrade ... But we will be able to win".
