Fires have plagued the island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for six weeks.
The area is home to unique forests and is also known for its dingo.
Extinguishing the fires has been challenging as the temperature in the area is still rising to around 34 degrees today.
Australia has been scorching in recent days at record-breaking temperatures.
Over the weekend, Sydney, the largest city, broke the highest nighttime temperature record in the country’s measurement history in November.
State researchers have recently warned that climate change threatens to exacerbate drought and wildfires.
