Swedish and British researchers said on Monday they had developed a method that reveals developing Alzheimer's disease with a blood sample.

The mechanism for the development of Alzheimer's disease is not fully understood.

However, the blood test can be used to identify some of the proteins whose accumulation in the brain leads to the development of the disease.

Researchers believe the test could help diagnose Alzheimer's disease years before its visible symptoms.

The research article was published in the online journal Nature Aging.

Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative brain disease that affects more than 50 million people.

More than half of the world's dementia cases are due to Alzheimer's disease.
