Offenbach (dpa / lrs) - The people in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland have to be prepared for snow at the start of the week.

On Monday morning the weather is initially sunny and bright, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Offenbach.

In the afternoon, thick clouds should come in with temperatures between one and four degrees.

In the night of Tuesday it can then come to snow.

The meteorologists expect one to three centimeters of fresh snow.

The lowest temperatures are between zero and minus three degrees.

Tuesday itself then remains very cloudy.

At first, snow can continue to fall, but it turns into rain during the morning.

The weather experts warn of an increased risk of ice.

The temperatures are between two and six degrees.

In the night of Wednesday clouds come up again, bringing rain.

There may be local fog.

The lowest temperatures are between three and minus one degree.

In the higher mountains it can become slippery due to snow and freezing moisture.

Wednesday then becomes foggy and cloudy.

It remains largely dry, but local sprays can occur.

The temperatures rise to two degrees in the high areas and six degrees on the Rhine.
