Egyptian human rights lawyer Khaled Al-Badawi said that his detained wife, Hoda Abdel-Moneim, suffers from severe deterioration in her health due to the stopping of the left kidney from working and the regression of the right, according to what was reported by one of the detainees accompanying her in the high-security prison of Al-Qanater.

In a post on a Facebook page, Al-Badawi appealed to the Egyptian authorities to release his detained wife, especially since she overlooked the period of pretrial detention, and because of her health and old age.

The hashtag # Hoda_Abdulmoneim_In_Danger, launched by the pioneers of communication platforms in Egypt, has received heavy circulation on various sites.

Al-Badawi said in his post, "I appeal to the officials to release her so that I can treat her and preserve her life, especially since she spent more than two years in pretrial detention, having previously suffered from venous thrombosis and high blood pressure."

Her daughter, Fadwa, demanded her release, and she said in a leaflet that she had been prevented from visiting her mother for more than two years, stressing that her mother was in a state of grave danger.

For its part, the international human rights platform said, "We record" that the health condition of the detainee is in grave danger that threatens her life, and called for her immediate release.
