According to the survey, in the seven months of the pandemic, the number of Russians affected by this type of crime has doubled than in the seven months before the spread of the disease.

“If until March 2020, only 25% of respondents stated about the experience of encountering online fraudsters, then during the pandemic this figure increased to 54%,” the text says.

Thus, the respondents most often faced fraud, including in social networks (55%), through mobile communications (46%) and personal e-mail (20%).

At the same time, the study participants added that mostly attackers showed interest in bank and passport data - 86% and 52% of cases, respectively.

“37% of the respondents admitted that they had faced financial losses ... The average rate of losses as a result of Internet fraud was almost 20 thousand rubles per person,” the survey data indicate.

Nevertheless, the overwhelming majority of those faced with online fraudsters - 83% - did not seek help from law enforcement officers.

“During the pandemic, people started to go online more often.

Many people even today prefer to shop online rather than go out to buy bread in the store around the corner.

Naturally, the number of cases of online fraud has also increased, especially at those sites where people spend money or leave their personal data, ”said Director General of ANO Dialogue Aleksey Goreslavsky.

1.4 thousand respondents from 75 regions of Russia took part in the research "Internet without fraud".

Earlier, Sberbank told that the fraudsters began to call the bank's clients and report the alleged start of investigative actions against the employees of the financial institution, convincing them to transfer money to another account.
