Bad Bentheim (dpa / lni) - A man wanted for tax evasion has been arrested by the federal police in Bad Bentheim when entering Germany.

There was a pre-trial detention order against the 59-year-old.

As the owner of a company, he is said to have evaded taxes amounting to 2.3 million euros in 34 cases.

As a spokesman for the federal police announced on Monday, the wanted person fell on Friday during a control on a train in Bad Bentheim station when he was arriving from the Netherlands.

On Saturday he was reportedly brought before a judge and then taken to a correctional facility.
