The boss of Orange France, Fabienne Dulac, was the guest of Emmanuel Duteil on Monday evening.

She announced on Europe 1 the launch of 5G in Paris "from December 15th", as well as the deployment of this network in more than 165 cities by the end of the year.

It is only a matter of days before we see 5G land in France.

If fifteen cities in France will be concerned from December 3, the CEO of Orange France, Fabienne Dulac, announced Monday evening at the microphone of Emmanuel Duteil that it would also be launched in Paris "from December 15 next".

"The deployment of the networks takes a little time and we will have to change all of our equipment, so we start with very dense cities, where there will eventually be saturation of the network", explained the boss of the French group. .

"We started with cities where we were ready, and especially where we had authorization and a dialogue with local communities," she continued.

32 large cities equipped by the end of 2021

Concerning the capital, 5G will therefore be launched before the end of the year: "It will be in the experimental areas where we have respected the charter that the mayor of Paris asked us to respect", assured Fabienne Dulac.

The councilor Anne Hidalgo, who had said he was opposed to a moratorium, in fact finally opted for a "citizen panel" on the deployment of this network, which will deliver its conclusions on December 5 and define safeguards on its uses.

The City of Paris therefore asked operators that all 5G projects be sent to the Urban Ecology Agency (AEU) in the form of “City of Paris information files” (DIVP) for an investigation.

Fabienne Dulac also said that she was convinced that most local authorities and town halls will gradually arrive at the deployment of this network for two reasons: "Firstly because of ANSES, which will publish [a report on] the impacts on health, which is eagerly awaited in all European countries even if there are absolutely no concerns, and also because the dialogue has been established for several months and it is gradually coming to an end. "

She also estimated that from the end of 2021, a "top 32" will be in place in the country, ie 32 of the largest cities in France will be equipped with this new network.

And to use 5G, you will need a new package, around five euros more than the current ones.
