29 November 2020 There is uncertainty about the outcome of 2 referendums promoted by civil society in Switzerland.
Today, the Swiss are being asked to say yes or no to two questions.
The first "For Responsible Businesses" initiative, launched by various non-governmental organizations, aims to oblige companies based in Switzerland to respect human rights and the environment at home and abroad.
The second, promoted by the Group for a Switzerland without an army and by the Young Greens, wants to act "against the trade in war material" and prevent the financing of war material producers in the world.
Government and Parliament, while praising the contents of the referendums, consider the measures proposed by the promoters to be excessive and recommend that both texts be rejected.
The polls close at 12 and the first screenings are expected in the early afternoon.
