Tens of thousands of suspected terrorists are imprisoned in the Kurdish-controlled areas of Syria after the fall of the Islamic State.

Among them are dozens of Swedish men and women who chose to leave Sweden to join the terrorist sect.

But despite the fact that it has been over two years since IS 'last stronghold fell, it is still unclear whether Sweden will take them home or not.

The Liberals' foreign policy Fredrik Malm says in SVT's Agenda that one should work to bring the children home, but is more critical of also letting adult citizens come back.

- With our current legislation, it will not be possible to prosecute them, they will claim that they were chefs, drivers or housewives, he says.

The Left Party's Håkan Svenneling does not share the view that the suspected terrorists could not be convicted in Sweden.

- We expose others to a security risk if we do not take responsibility and ensure that they become part of the legal process, he says.
